Each lamp is a unique piece.Ceramics hold the traceof the hands that made it.
The process
The clay
Everything begins with clay. We choose it for how it responds to the hands and to fire.

Shaping
Each piece is formed by hand, without molds. The gesture of the maker defines its final form.

Drying
The pieces rest for as long as they need. There is no rush in this process.

Firing
The kiln transforms the clay. What goes in soft comes out with the permanent hardness of ceramic.

The light
Each lamp is hand-wired. The ceramic and the light meet for the first time.

About
Opaca was born in Buenos Aires from the desire to make objects that last. We work with ceramics believing that handmade things have memory: they hold the time, the temperature, and the gesture of whoever made them.
Each lamp is a unique piece. Two Setas from the same workshop may share a name, but no two are alike. That imperfection is not a flaw — it is the signature of craft.
We work without haste, with first-quality materials, and with the conviction that light changes a space when it comes from something real.
